DAILY NEWS STAFF REPORT

WILLIAMSON — Two health fairs — sponsored by the Mingo County Health Department and scheduled for next week — are part of the Immunize for Healthy Lives® initiative.

The “Kids First Health Fairs” will take place Tuesday, Aug. 11, at Lenore K-8 School and Thursday, Aug. 13 at Burch High School in Delbarton. Both events run

from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The fairs offer a comprehensive health screening. A free, full physical exam will be available to each child including vision, hearing and dental screenings, free

immunizations and a speech therapy exam.

Ronald McDonald will be greeting visitors and WXCC will present a live radio remote Tuesday from 1 to 3 p.m.

The Immunize for Healthy Lives® initiative began under the Ronald McDonald House Charities umbrella as an immunization education and awareness program 16

years ago. Today, the program continues through community health departments educating parents on immunization schedules and school vaccination requirements.
