Rita Jervis. 38, of Welch passed away Monday, July 13, 2009 at her home. Born November 23, 1970 in South Williamson, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Ora Lee Vanhoose Wellman. She was a homemaker and attended the Welch Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.

In addition to her mother she was preceded in death by a brother, Floyd Wellman.

She is survived by her husband, David Jervis of the home; a son, Jonathan Jervis of the home; and three daughters, Jennifer, Kayla and Stephanie Jervis all of the home; six brothers, Rick Wellman of Falls Branch, W.Va., David Wellman of Apple Creek, Ohio, Danny Wellman of Borderland, W.Va., Charles Wellman of Williamson, W.Va., Larry Wellman Jr. of Slater's Branch, Ky., and James Wellman of Fairborn, Ohio; five sisters, Sherri Casto of Buchannon, W.Va., Terri Bentley of Pikeville, Ky., Jerri Wellman of Slaters Branch, Ky/, Linda Church of Richmond, Ky., and Crystal Whitt of Williamson, W.Va.

Funeral service will be conducted Friday, July I7 at 12 p.m. in the Douglas Mortuary chapel in Welch with Jeremy Dillon officiating. Burial will follow in the Jervis Family Cemetery, Atwell Mountain.

Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
