The Tug Valley Relay for Life will meet at the South Williamson Appalachian Regional Hospital in the conference room at 5:30 p.m.

The Logan County Public Service District meets for its regular board meeting at 6:30 p.m. at the district’s office at 41 Armory Road, Monaville, W.Va.

The Tug Valley Recovery Shelter’s Board of Directors will meet at 6 p.m. at the Fifth Avenue Church of Christ in Williamson.

July 9

The Williamson City Council will gather for its regular meeting at council chambers in City Hall.

July 11

The New Start 5K Race, held at Jenny Wiley State Resort Park, begins with registration, at 7 a.m. in the parking lot of the Wilkinson-Stumbo Convention Center. Top winners receive a trophy and all participants receive free t-shirts. Entry fees are $15 per adult and $10 per child. All proceeds benefit the Alano Club, which helps people overcome problem drinking. Call (606) 285-0404 for more information.

July 12-15

Chattaroy Church of God will hold a revival with Rev. Harold Ray Branham from Cleveland, Tenn. Sunday service at 6:30 p.m., Monday-Wednesday at 7 p.m., with special singing nightly by “The Branham Family.”

July 13

The Williamson Area Railroad Museum Board will meet at 1 p.m. at the Brass Tree and all members are asked to attend.

July 14

The July King Coal Highway I-73/74 board meeting will be held at noon at the Larry Joe Harless Community Center in Gilbert, W.Va.

July 16

Bevins Elementary School will conduct Camp Read To Me at 10 a.m. in the Pre-K classroom. The program is under the direction of Donna Hagger, Pre-K teacher, and is open to all children ages 1-6. For more information, contact Vanessia Gillispie at (606) 353-6886.

The Tug Valley Shrine Club will be having their annual swim part on Thursday, July 16, 2009 at 6 p.m., for children that are treated at the Shrine hospital, and for all shrine members and their families. Food will be provided. Bring a desert if you wish.

The South Central Labor Council -WV AFL-CIO will be holding a Townhall Meeting at the Gary Community Center at 6 p.m.  The discussion will include healthcare reform and the Employee Free Choice Act.

The public and all elected officials are encouraged to attend. 

July 21

Energy Express will sponsor a blood drive at Burch Elementary from 1 to 6 p.m.
