Randy Steve Meadows, age 57, of Rawl, W.Va., passed away Saturday; June 13, 2009 at the Williamson Memorial Hospital. He was born October 29, 1951 at Chattaroy, W.Va.

He was preceded in death by his biological parents, Homer M. Farley and Sylvia Belle Walker; his adoptive parents:, Marvin and Maggie Hale Meadows; sister Marla Fouch; and brother Terry Walker.

Randy had formerly worked for the Betsy Ross Bakery, and he was a disabled coal miner, having worked for Rocky Hollow and Tall Timber Coal companies.

He was a member of the UMWA Local 1440 of which he was a very active

member. He loved helping with the Union and being a part of the Local. He was the past recording secretary on Compac, and the building committee, and

he was in charge of renting out the union hall for events to members of the community. He loved his Union buddies, and was close to a lot of his former workers.

He is survived by his wife, Mary S. Bowman Meadows of Rawl, W.Va., with whom he had loved, argued with, laughed with, and was devoted to for 38 years; his three sons and their wives whom he dearly loved — Steve (Melissa) Meadows of

Williamson, W.Va., Da-wayne (Tracie) Meadows and Mark Meadows all of Rawl, W.Va.; two granddaughters (his little prin-cesses), Marissa and Chey-enne; three grandsons (his little buddies), Joey, Austin, and Daniel; his step-mother, Martha Farley of Shinnston, W.Va.; a brother, Homer (Judy) Farley of Shinnston, W.Va.; an aunt, Vada Hale of Inez, Ky.; and Mary’s brothers and sisters, who felt Randy was their brother and not a brother-in-law.

Also surviving is a host of nieces, nephews, cou-sins, and friends. A special cousin, Rick Hale - who was like a brother, and his special little nurse Lisa Totten — who he admired and spoke of often. Randy will always be loved, and will never know how he will be missed!

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday; June 17, 2009 at 1 p.m. at the Rawl Freewill Baptist Church at Rawl, W.Va., with Pastor Danny Scott and Bro. Mike Dingess officiating. Burial will follow in the Rawl Community Cemetery at Rawl, W.Va., with James Maynard, Ray Bevins, Rick Hale, Billy Wright, and John Catron serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Local Union 1440.

Visitation will be from 6-10 p.m., Tuesday evening at the Rawl Freewill Baptist Church.
