Mary Frances Potensky, 79, of Belfry, Ky., died Sunday, June 14,2009, at the Pikeville Medical Cen-ter, Pikeville, Ky.

She was born June 20,1929 at Hardy, Ky., the daughter of the late George M. and Anna Harbulah Stanley. She also was preceded in death by her husband, John Alexander Pot-ensky; a sister, Josephine Stanley, and brothers, John and George Stanley.

She was a retired school teacher from the Mingo County Board of Education and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Williamson, W.Va.

Survivors include three daughters, Frances Ann (Gary) Hensley of Belfry, Ky., Mary Jo Potensky of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Kiz Potensky of Paris, Ky.; one grandson, Shane (Kelli J 0) Hensley of Pikeville, Ky., and great-grandchildren, Jackson and Wade Hensley, and another one on the way.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, June 18, 2009, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Harry Dunn officiating. Burial will follow in Mountain View Memory Gardens, Huddy, Ky.

Visitation will be held after 6 p.m., Wednesday at the Sacred Heart Church with a Rosary service at 7 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Jim Hunt, John Hunt, Gary Hensley, Shane Hensley, Jamie Stanley, Eugene Sesco II. Junior pallbearers will be great grandsons, Jackson and Wade Hensley.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, 111.60601-7633. R.E. Rogers Funeral Home of Belfry is in charge of arrangements.
