A professional development/preparation day for school site coordinators and teachers will be held June 4 at the Central Office of Pike County Schools. The East Williamson Baptist Church will be conducting a Vacation Bible School, Lifeway’s Boomerang Express — It All Comes Back to Jesus!, from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Classes will be offered for children from 4-years-old through 12th grade. A kickoff party will be held Sunday, June 14, at 6 p.m.

The Williamson City Council will convene as a board of canvassers of the June 9 general election at 4:30 p.m. in the City Hall’s Council Chambers.
The Town of Matewan will have a special council meeting on Monday, June 15, at 5 p.m., at City Hall. A canvass of the June 9 election will take place at City Hall at 6 p.m.
