Martha Lane, 82, of Varney, died Tuesday, June 9, 2009, at the Williamson Memorial Hospital.

She was born April 5, 1927 to the late Harvey and Della Bostic Hinkle.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence J. Lane, and two sisters.

She was a homemaker and a of the Church of God faith.

She is survived by sons Gerald (Bessie) Lane of Millstone, Samuel Lane of Varney and David (Louella) Musick of Roderfield; stepsons Bobby Musick and William Justice of Hurley, Va. and Jimmy Lane of Mt. Airy, Md.; daughter Ilean Gibson of Varney; stepdaughter Ilene (Russell) Graham of Dushore, Pa.; special son-in-law Herbert Gibson; special grandchildren Jamie (Devin) Marcum, Rosetta (Donnie) Jenkins, Carolyn (Chad) Adkins and Brittany Lovejoy; and special great-grandchildren Marie, Don-nie, Jr., Destiny, Charity, Chad Jr., and Caleb; 27 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 12, 2009, at the Chafin Funeral Home with elders James Adkins and Eddie Layne officiating. Burial will follow at the Gibson Cemetery at Varney.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, June 11, 2009, at the funeral home chapel.
