Jimmie Hensley, 71, of McCarr, Ky., passed away Sunday, June 7, 2009 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.
Jimmie was born Nov-ember 28, 1937 at Mer-rimac, W.Va., to the late William Hensley and Flora Hall Hensley.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brother Everette Hensley; sisters Gracie Curry, Geral-dine Collins, Virginia Can-trell, and daughter-in-law Cathy Jo Hensley.
Jimmie was a truck driver and a U.S. veteran having served in the Air Force.
Jimmie is survived by his spouse Shirley Myrlyn Homer Hensley of McCarr, Ky.; sons Jimmy R. Hens-ley of Texas, David (Tina) Hensley of Minnesota, and Donnie and Darlene Hens-ley of Red Jacket, W.Va.; a daughter, Patricia and Robert Lindeman of Rapid City, SD; a sister, Patricia Murphy of Gilbert, W.Va.; 11 grandchildren, Stacie (Ronnie) Patke, Jennifer (Jeff) Wieweck, Richard (Brenessa) Lindeman, B.J. (Scott) Baisden, Dusti (Michael) Johnson, Jamie (Chris) Robinette, Rocky Davis, Donna Kay Hensley, William Ray Hensley, Ryan David Hensley, Nikki Lynn Renee Hensley; and six great grandchildren, Zack-ary Dylan Baisden, Kae-leigh Jo Basiden, Donovan Michael Johnson, Raylee Shae Johnson, Gaven Cade Robinette, Mackenzie Alise Wieweck
Jimmie is also survived by special family friend Judy Pruitt and a host of nieces and nephews.
Honoring services will be held Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at 1 p.m. at the Cornerstone Church of Hatfield Bottom, Matewan, W.Va., with brothers Jim Ed Whitt and Dave Stratton officiating.
Burial will follow in the Family Cemetery at Merri-mac, W.Va. Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
The family will begin receiving friends on Tues-day, June 9, 2009, at the church at 6 p.m.
