CHARLESTON (AP) — State health officials say the number of confirmed cases of swine flu in West Virginia has risen to four.

Dr. Cathy Slemp, the state’s health officer, said Wednesday the confirmed cases originated in Cabell, Monongalia, Raleigh and Wood counties.

Slemp says the Raleigh County case involved a New York resident and the other three were West Virginians. She declined to release specifics on the cases, referring questions to the various county health departments.
