Those affected by floods in Boone, Logan, McDowell, Mingo, Raleigh and Wyoming counties will not have to pay sales tax on mobile homes, house trailers, modular homes or similar units or building materials necessary for repairs caused by recent flooding. Sales tax also is exempt on bottled water and cleanup supplies.
The executive order expires June 10.
To qualify, buyers must complete a flood exemption certificate, which is available from the West Virginia Tax Department.
Those who already have made purchases are eligible for a refund.
