MORGANTOWN (AP) — West Virginia University is organizing a weeklong relief drive to help out flood-ravaged communities in the southern coalfields.

The Center for Civic Engagement is taking both financial donations and supplies from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. through Friday at various locations on campus.

Director Kim Colebank says all donations go to the Southern West Virginia Flood Relief Fund.

Flood victims need bleach, cleaning supplies, rags, buckets, diapers and personal hygiene items.

Supplies may also be dropped off all week at Stansbury Hall and Allen Hall.

Colebank says many people had been asking how they could help, so WVU wanted to do its part.
