Our precious and loving mother, Oma Jean Thomas Stumbo. 83, of Ragland, WV, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 16, 2009. Death occurred at the Williamson Memorial Hospital where Oma was surrounded by the love and comfort of her children.

Born April 15, 1926, at Oppy, KY, she was the daughter of the late John Ball and Mary Frantz Ball May.

In addition to her parents, Oma was preceded in death by her first husband, John W. Thomas, Sr.; her second husband, Henry Stumbo; her step-father, Samuel David May; a daughter, Betty Lou Romans; a sister, Bessie Mae Maynard; a brother, Thomas Evans; and a great granddaughter, Katheryn Griffin.

A homemaker, Oma Jean was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. She was loved by all who knew her and she was a great inspiration of her faith in God.

Oma is survived by four daughters, Billie Dotson and her husband, Mack, of Stopover, KY; Mary Hitchcock of Williamson; Carolyn Daughtery and her husband, Tom, of Taylor, MI; Shirlene Dove and her husband, Steve of Chattaroy, WV; two sons, Gary Thomas and his wife, Lucy of Sarah Ann, WV and John W. Thomas, Jr., and his wife, Ingrid, of Williamson, WV; one brother, whom she called her twin, Robert Ball and his wife, Bobbie Lou, of Abilene, TX; thirteen grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

Friends may call from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., on Sunday evening, May 17, 2009, and from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m., on Monday, May 18, 2009, at Weaver Mortuary in West Williamson.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., on Tuesday, May 19, 2009, at the mortuary.

Burial will follow at the Mountain View Memory Gardens at Huddy, KY. Family members will serve as active pallbearers. Tom Daughtery will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
