PIKEVILLE, Ky. (AP) — The severe storms that rolled through eastern Kentucky have damaged the Pike County Animal Shelter.

WYMT-TV in Hazard reported a mudslide sent rock and mud into the shelter over the weekend, topping one of the buildings.

None of the animals were hurt, but officials are looking for places to house some of them.

About 100 animals were in the shelter and volunteers took them over the weekend, but officials said some people can’t keep the pets and other places must be found for them quickly.
