7 new cases swine flu in Ky.
FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) — State health officials announced Monday seven more cases of swine flu have been confirmed in patients throughout Kentucky.
The cases bring Kentucky’s number of confirmed swine flu cases to 10. Cases confirmed Monday involved three residents of Jefferson County and one resident each in Boone, Boyle, Hardin and Kenton counties.
Swine flu cases had been confirmed previously in Kentucky in Daviess, Fayette and Warren counties.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has also approved Kentucky’s state Public Health Laboratory to confirm swine flu cases, according to the state. Public Health Commissioner William Hacker says the approval will quicken the process for confirming cases.
