Mingo names assistant prosecuting attorney

WILLIAMSON — Mingo County prosecuting attorney Michael Sparks and the County Commission have named Eugene Sisco, Jr., the new assistant prosecutor follow the resignation of Jeffrey Simpkins.

According to Sparks, Simpkins tendered his resignation to the prosecutor’s office April 21. His resignation letter stated he wanted to devote more time to this growing civil practice.

Sisco is a perfect fit for the job, Sparks said.

Eugene brings intelligence, experience and integrity to the position, Sparks said. He will be primarily working in magistrate’s court with domestic violence cases.

MCC also announced Larry Croft has been appointed the new chief bailiff in the Mingo County Courthouse.

The Commission has made an excellent choice,Sparks said. Croft brings pride and passion to the job. He has gained the respect of the other bailiffs, and is very helpful.
