Wendell Bruce Collins, 65, of Ocala Fl, formerly of Gilbert, passed away at his home on April 18, 2009, following a brief illness.

Born on June 19, 1943, in Gilbert, he was the son of the late Shird and Sis (Sloan) Collins.

In addition to parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jo (Harless) Collins.

He was a coal miner and electrician by trade.

He leaves to cherish his memories: two daughters, Paiga Harless of Gilbert and Sharon Smith of Ocala FL; one son P.J. Collins of Gilbert; two sisters: Shirley Smith of Ohio and Lucille Conners of VA; two brothers: Luther Collins of WV and Wade Hatfield, Jr., of VA; and a host of other dear family and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, May 3, 2009, from 5 p.m. until 7:30 p.m., at the Full Gospel Church of God at Baisden.

Mounts Funeral Home in Gilbert, W.Va., is in charge of arrangements.
