BERKELEY SPRINGS (AP) — An autopsy on a badly decomposed body found along the Morgan-Berkeley county line may help authorities determine the cause and manner of death.

State Police say a mushroom hunter found the body at about 8 a.m. Saturday near a hunting access trail in the Sleepy Creek Wildlife Management Area.

The body appeared to be a male, wearing a tan colored shirt, blue jeans and white tennis shoes.

An autopsy planned Monday by the state Medical Examiner in Charleston also may help authorities identify the body.

West Virginia State Police Sgt. S.E. Davis said it appears the body may have been dragged by a large carnivore.
