So, here goes:
1) Detroit - When you have this many needs you should trade down - but they won’t. The Pick: Matthew Stafford -QB - Georgia
2) St. Louis - Needs offensive help -both on the line and the WR position - Jason Smith - OL, Baylor
3) Kansas City - New GM Scott Pioli will follow his old New England Patriot ways and take the best available on their board. Michael Crabtree - WR, Texas Tech
4) Seattle - They have a lot of immediate needs. This won’t be used for someone like a QB to hold a clipboard - Brian Orakpo - DE , Texas
5) Cleveland - Must continue to build offensive line - Eugene Monroe - OT, Virginia
6) Cincinnati - They need big production from this pick so they will take a proven commodity and a fan draw - James Laurenitis, ILB, Ohio State
7) Oakland - Don’t be surprised if Oakland tries to trade up to get either Crabtree or Jason Smith. If they stand here - Michael Oher, OL - Mississippi
8) Jacksonville - Their biggest needs are on offense, particularly big-play makers - Jeremy Maclin, WR - Missouri
9) Green Bay - Defense is their biggest concern - B.J. Raji, DT - Boston College
10) San Francisco - They’ll go with a local attraction - at a position they need definite help at - Mark Sanchez, - QB, USC
11) Buffalo - After the signing of T.O., they can afford to take the best talent on the board instead of looking for need - Aaron Curry - OLB, Wake Forest
12) Denver - Josh McDaniels needs a young can’t miss running back to help offset the loss of Cutler. He gets him here -
Knowshon Moreno - RB, Georgia
13) Washington - The interior defense finally gets younger and better - Rey Maualuga - ILB, USC
14) New Orleans - A team getting older as the clock ticks. Brees gets some protection - Andre Smith - OT, Alabama
15) Houston - They get a big playmaker and blocker - Brandon Pettigrew - TE, Oklahoma State
16) San Diego - With Michael Turner in Atlanta, Ladanian Tomlinson needs a successor to groom - Chris Wells - RB, Ohio State
17) New York Jets - Favre’s retirement leaves them needing a QB. But they won’t resist a can’t miss linebacker - Brian Cushing - OLB, USC
18) Denver (from Chicago) Now they get their real value for Cutler -Tyson Jackson - DE, LSU.
19) Tampa - New regime will seek to get younger, and quicker. They may try to trade up to get Curry. If not - Percy Harvin - WR, Florida.
20) Detroit (from Dallas) - They would love to have Moreno to go with Stafford and could conceivably try to move up with this pick. If not - Everette Brown - DE. Florida State
21) Philadelphia - They will go with the best available n the board - Malcolm Jenkins - CB, Ohio State.
22) Minnesota - There biggest need is to solidify the QB position. IF Detroit doesn’t pick Stafford, look for the Vike’s to try to trade into the No. 2 or No. 3 slot - If not - Josh Freeman - QB, Kansas State.
23) New England - There draft policy never changes - take the best available talent - Vontae Davis - CB, Illinois
24) Atlanta - There TE need is now met with the acquisition of Tony Gonzalez from KC. So they will look for offensive line help - Alex Mack - C, California
25) Miami - Unless Parcells trades up to try to get Jason Smith, they’ll go with the best receiver left on their board - Hakeem Nicks - WR, North Carolina.
26) Baltimore - Last year they struck gold with QB Joe Flacco who has all the makings of a franchise QB. Now they accessorize by adding the homegrown speedy wide receiver who falls into their lap at No. 26 - Darrius Heyward-Bey - WR, Maryland.
27) Indianapolis - They need another Marvin Harrison - they won’t get his speed but they will get his dependability in making the catch -Brian Robiskie - WR, Ohio State
28) Buffalo (From Carolina through Philadelphia) - Two No. 1 picks for Buffalo sets them up really well - Michael Johnson - DE, Georgia Tech
29) New York Giants - Here’s how they replace Plaxico Burress - Kenny Britt - WR, Rutgers
30) Tennessee - They get the nephew of their retired ironman, OL Bruce Matthews and at a need position to boot - Clay Matthews - OLB, USC.
31) Arizona - Concerns over running back may dictate te choice of Connecticut’ Donald Brown. But I think they’re too enamored with another pick - Robert Ayers - DE, Tennessee
32) Pittsburgh - Super Bowl Champs get a little better up front - Max Unger - C, Oregon.
Watch the draft tomorrow and see how I did. In the meantime, send us your comments. Till next time, that’s how I see it from the other side of the desk.
