Born on April 18, 1950, in Wray Colorado, Mary was the daughter of the late Edward G. Gant and Viola Gant.
In addtion to her parents Mary is preceded in death by many loyal and loving pets whom she cared for as her children, Flower; Her little Prince; Peanut; Blackie; Black Jack; Sawyer; Trixie; Fritz; and Sam to name a few and many others.
In addition to being a loving mother to her children and the animals in which she held so very close, Mary was a caring sister; friend; and niehgbor. Mary was a homemaker and also worked to rescue animals in need, her concern for the well being of animals was an amazing attribute.
She leaves to honor her loving memory and mourn her passing her son John (Heather) Blankenship of Knoxville, Tenn.; daughter Jennifer (Keith) Gibson of Sprigg, W.Va.; sisters Linda Bearly of California and Margret (Preston) Martin of Washington, DC.
Mary is also survived by her precious dog, Samantha whom she loved dearly. Mary will be sadly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
A memorial service will be held in Mary’s honor on Wednesday April 22, 2009, at 6:30 p.m., with Bro. Virgil Hamilton residing.
The family will begin receiving friends on Wednesday April 22, 2009, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Chambers Funeral Home chapel.
Honoring the request of Mary, she will be cremated.
In Lieu of flowers, the family asks the donatios be made to Save our Strays 16 West 4th Ave. Williamson, WV 25661 (It was Mary’s desire to see every stray have a home and for Mingo County to have a animal Shelter)
