Lovel Jo Estep 83, of Scarlet Road, went to be with his lord on Thursday, June 13, 2013 after a lingering illness. .

Born at Holden, he was a son of the late George and Nettie Mayberry Estep. He was also preceded in death by siblings, George, Roland, Billy, Charles, Butch, Ernest, and Bobby Estep and Letta (Estep) Blair, daughter, Bonnie Estep and granddaughter, Melody Smith.

Mr. Estep was a member of Duncan Fork United Baptist Church a coal miner and a veteran of the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Louise Ooten Estep, daughter, Linda (Clyde) Maynard, sons, Lovel Jr. (Dottie) and James (Sheila) Estep, ten grandchildren including Wesley Estep, nine great grandchildren and one great grandchild. Funeral services will be held at Chafin Funeral Home in Delbarton on Saturday June 15, 2013 at 1 p.m. with Elders Eddie Layne, Jimmy Maynard and Ransom Chafin officiating.

Burial will follow at Mt. View Memory Gardens at Maher. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday June 14, 2013.

Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.
