The Tug Valley Road Runners Club and ARH will sponsor a 5-K run/walk to raise funds for Relay for Life on Saturday, May 18, starting at 9 a.m. at Southern W.Va. Community and Technical College.

The theme for the 5-K is “Let’s Wipe Out Cancer.”

Pre-registration will start at 7 a.m. and stop at 8:45 a.m. Runners are encouraged to come early to register and not wait until the last minute. They can also pre-register on-line.

Contact Alexis Batausa at 304-542-5311 for more info on registration.

The entry fee is $20 for everyone. All finishers will receive a T-shirt and a medal. There will be winners in different age groups.

The course will start from the college, go down Armory Drive and back to the flood wall. Then it will take the participants down and back on the flood wall and back to the college for the 3.1 miles. Blue arrows will guide the runners and walkers.

There will also be a kid’s race after the 5-K run.

For more information you can check the TVRR club’s Facebook page.

The Mingo County Diabetes Coalition is also helping with the race.
