Irene Layne Mounts, 84, of Freeburn, Ky., passed away Friday, March 27, 2009, at the South Williamson ARH Skilled Nursing Facility.Born, March 24, 1925, at Coleman, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Butler and Cora Stump Casey.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first

husband and father of her children, Chester Layne, who passed away in 1993, and her second husband, Lester Mounts, who passed away in 2001; a grandson, Steve Layne; a brother, Dallas Casey; and a son-in-law, Jimmy Daughtery.

She was a homemaker, a retired self-employed merchant and a member of the Freeburn Free Pentecostal Church of God.

She is survived by five children, Ernestine Daughtery of Ft. Loramie, Ohio, Henry (Shelva) Layne and Vella (Ron) Chapman, both of Freeburn, Ky., Chester (Judy) Layne Jr. of Blaine, Ky., and Cora (Ron) Ivey of Freeburn; a brother, the Rev. Darius (Agnes) Casey of Freeburn,10 grandchildren, Jimmi Jo Hall, Angie Riggs, Henry Lee layne Jr., Sherry Young, Stephanie Prater, Kenny Chapman, Keith Layne, Anita Davis, Peggy Chapman and Johnny Burgraff; 14 great-granchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will at 12 noon Wednesday, April 1, 2009, at the Freeburn Free Pentecostal Church of God with Ministers Fred Taylor, Richard Maynard and Ron Chapman officiating. Burial will follow at the Greene Layne Cemetery at Barrenshea. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be after 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 31, 2009, at the church, with services at 7 p.m.

Arrangements are under the direction of R.S. Jones and Son Funeral Home of Phelps, Ky.
