Food City Produce Manager to be honored

James May of Food City in South Williamson, Ky. will be among 25 produce managers across the country to be honored by the United Fresh Produce Association.
He will be recognized at the United Fresh 2013 during the Chairman’s Reception & Annual Awards Banquet at the Marriott Hotel and Convention Center on Thursday, May 16, 2013 in San Diego, California through the association’s Retail Produce Manager Awards Program.
Sponsored by Ready Pac Foods Inc. the program honors “those on the front lines in supermarkets working every day to increase sales and consumption of fruit and vegetables.”
The 25 winners were selected from hundreds of nominations submitted by retailers and produce suppliers across the industry. Winners are chosen based on a number of criteria including their efforts to increase produce consumption through everyday excellence in merchandising, special displays , promotions, community service and commitment to total customer satisfaction.
During the banquet in San Diego, five “Grand Prize” recipients will be announced to receive an additional $1,000 cash prize.
