Two players from the Lady Miners of Mingo Central were voted to the AA All-Cardinal Conference team.

Ashley Curry, a 6-1sophomore center, was named to the first team. Senior point guard Chrissy Farmer was voted to the second team.

Curry averaged a double-double for coach David Hanshaw. She averaged close to 13 points and 12 rebounds per contest.

“I think she has a bright future,” Hanshaw said of Curry. “If she works she can get a college scholarship.’

Farmer scored about eight points per game and dished out five assists for MCHS. She also had about two steals per contest.

The complete first team included Curry, Kristen Desrocher from Chapmanville, Jordan Marshall of Herbert Hoover, Paul Ord of Poca, Ali Whitman of Scott, Madison Jones and Karli Pinkerton from Sissonville and Krista Maynard and Savannah Winnett of Tolsia.

The second team members were Farmer, Katelyn Hall of Chapmanville, Bailey Aab and Caroline Thornburg of Herbert Hoover, McKenzie Ball of Poca, Jaimee Dotson from Scott, Jordan Presley of Tolsia and Taylor Bartram of Wayne.

The honorable mention list consisted of Hillary Hainer of Chapmanville, Jamie Maynard of Tolsia, Julie Conway and Andrea Rankin of Scott, Emily Marsh of Wayne and Brooke Reed of Sissonville.
