WILLIAMSON – A woman charged with two counts of gross child neglect and a dozen other persons newly indicted on felony drug charges were arraigned in Mingo County Circuit Court Thursday with trial dates set in May.
Chief Judge Michael Thornsbury set an $80,000 bond for Misty Adkins, 31, of Duncan Fork, who was arraigned on the child neglect counts which accused her of creating a substantial risk of serious bodily injury to two children under 12 years of age.
Mingo County Prosecut-ing Attorney C. Michael Sparks appeared for the state of West Virginia in all of the proceedings.
Adkins, who was represented by Kathy C. Sturgell, pleaded not guilty to the charges contained in her indictment. She is set for trial on May 18. Conditions of bond, when posted, include electronic home confinement, weekly random drug testing; no association with any abuser of a controlled substance, no baby sitting and no one under the age of 18 years is to be in defendant’s home.
A 61-year-old Dingess man, Lewis Allen Shep-pard, is not yet in custody. He stands indicted on three counts of first degree sexual abuse of children under the age of 12 years, including two of those for whom Misy Adkins is listed as parent and custodian.
Twelve other persons arraigned were listed in sealed indictments until the arraignments. All of the defendants entered pleas of not guilty. Their bonds have conditions attached, such as electronic home confinement, weekly random drug testing, no association with any abuser of controlled substances and others.
The 12 defendants, their charges, trial dates and attorneys are as follows:
• Jackie Lee Accord, 40, of Williamson, was arraigned on one count of delivery of a Schedule II controlled substance (Co-caine) and one count of conspiracy in the delivery of that drug. He was represented by Attorney Jerry Lyall and is scheduled for trial May 4. His bond was set at $150,000 with the usual conditions.
• Timothy Jason Crabt-ree, also known as T.J., 31, Williamson: charged with one count transportation of a Schedule III controlled substance (Hydrocodone) into the state; one count transportation of a Schedule IV controlled substance (Alp-razolam) into the state; one count distribution of a Schedule III controlled substance (Hydrocodone) within 1,000 feet of a school by a person 18 years of age or older; one count delivery of a Schedule IV controlled substance (Alprazolam) and one count of conspiracy to deliver a Schedule III controlled substance (Hydro-codone).
Crabtree was represented by Diana Carter Wiedel; his trial date is May 18, and his bond is $150,000 with conditions.
• Tonya Renee Crabtree, also known as Tonya Workman, 25, of Nauga-tuck, was represented by Stacey Bowens on behalf of Attorney Robert Kuenzel. Her five drug charges are the same as those of defendant Timothy Jason Crab-tree. Her trial date is May 11 and she was remanded to Southwestern Regional Jail after the judge decreed “no bond.”
• Roy Jarvis, 45, of Naugatuck, indicted on two counts of delivering Schedule III controlled substance (Hydrocodone); one count possession of Schedule III controlled substance (Hydrocodone) with intent to deliver; one count possession of Schedule IV controlled substance (Alp-razolam) with intent to deliver.
He was represented by Attorney Stacey Bowens and is set for trial on May 25. Bond was set at $150,000 ($5,000 in full cash required) with usual conditions.
• Alex Likens, 23, Williamson, was represented by Attorney Wiedel. He is charged with one count delivery of a Schedule II controlled substance (Oxy-codone); one count conspiracy to deliver Schedule II controlled substance (Oxy-codone); one count delivery of Schedule II controlled substance (Cocaine), and two counts of conspiracy to deliver Cocaine. His trial is set for May 18 and bond was set at $250,000 ($10,000 in full cash required) and other conditions.
• Eugene Likens, 24, Lenore, was represented by Attorney Susan Van Zant. He is charged with four offenses: delivery of Schedule II controlled substance (Oxycodone); conspiracy to deliver Oxy-codone; delivery of Schedule II controlled substance (Cocaine) and conspiracy to deliver Cocaine. May 11 is his trial date and bond of $150,000 was set with conditions.
• Rebecca May, 36, Gilbert, was represented by Attorney Lyall. Her charges are one count delivery of a Schedule III controlled substance (Hydrocodone) and one count possession of Hydrocodone with intent to deliver. Her trial is set for May 4 and her bond is $150,000 with conditions.
• Clinton Pierce, 20, Williamson, was represented by Attorney Dave Foley. He is charged with one count each of delivery of a Schedule I controlled substance (Marjuana); conspiracy to deliver Mari-juana, and possession of Marihuana with intent to deliver. May 25 is his trial date and bond was set at $125,000 with conditions.
• Cora Ratcliff. 38, and John Edward Ratcliff, 46, both of Warfield, Ky., were separately indicted on identical offenses: one count transportation of Schedule III controlled substance (Hydrocodone) into state; two counts distribution of Hydrocodone within 1,000 feet of school by person 18 years of age or older, and one count conspiracy to deliver Hydrocodone.
Cora Ratcliff, whose Attorney was Ronald J. Rumora, representing Chris Younger, is set for trial May 18. Her bond, with conditions, is $150,000.
John Edward Ratcliff’s trial date is May 11 and his attorney is Suzan Van Zant. His bond is $175,000 with conditions.
• Larry Waller, age and address not available, was represented by Attorney Greg K. Smith. He is charged with one count delivery of a Schedule I controlled substance (Mari-juana); one count conspiracy to deliver Marijuana; one count possession of Marijuana with intent to deliver, and one count of child neglect, creating risk of injury. His trial is set for May 11 and his bond is $150,000 with conditions.
• Chester Woods, age and address not available, was represented by Attorney Bowens. His offenses are listed as one count conspiracy to deliver a Schedule II controlled substance (Co-caine), and one count possession of Cocaine with intent to deliver. His trial is set for May 18 and his bond is $200,000 (with $10,000 in full cash required) and with the usual conditions.
The defendants who failed to provide bond were remanded to Southwestern Regional Jail pending their trial or posting of bail.
