WILLIAMSON — The Williamson Memorial Hospital (WMH) will be sponsoring a series of education events geared toward women’s health, beginning with the highly anticipated annual “Women’s Night Out”, scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 28, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.
According to the Human Resources Director for WMH, Jessica Martin, there will be a presentation on cardiac health presented by Dr. Ashok Patnaik, a local Cardiologist and Priscilla Gooslin, his Nurse Practitioner. Dinner and giveaways will also be provided at no cost to those who wish to attend.
WMH will also host a series of “lunch and learn” events that are scheduled for the first three Tuesdays in the month of March (the 5th, 12th and 19th), between the hours of noon and 1 p.m. Each event will focus on a different health issue associated with women.
On March 5th the program will be “Good Health Starts with Nutrition”, and the presenter will be Shannon Dotson, a Registered Staff Dietician. The program on the 12th will be “Stress Reduction/Exercise Planning & Demonstration”, and is scheduled to be presented by Maria Ferrell, one of WMH’s Physical Therapists. The final program on the 19th will discuss the topic of “Know Your Numbers – Health Screening Recommendation”, and will be presented by Traci Booth, a Nurse Practitioner with WMH. Lunch and giveaways will be provided each day.
All events are free and will be held in the Education Classroom on the 4th floor of the hospital. If you have any questions or require further information, you are encouraged to contact Martin at 304-899-6323.
