WILLIAMSON — Williamson High School was placed on lockdown when local law enforcement discovered a wanted man while searching for another indicted by the Mingo County Grand Jury.

Members of the West Virginia State Police and Williamson City Police were at the intersection in front of the high school when they spotted Chester Woods, who was indicted yesterday by the Mingo County Grand Jury. Police were able to arrest Woods without incident.

When principal Johnny Branch spotted police activity he said he initiated standard safety procedures until police said it was safe to dismiss the students.

Williamson PD Lt. Dave Rockel said all 14 sealed indictments handed down by the March Grand Jury were apprehended Wednesday. All 14 face drug trafficking charges.

Rockel said this was the second leg of Operation G2.

“It is a moving train and we aren’t stopping,” he warned.

While the Daily News was not able to discover ages and home addresses, the following were apprehended.

Roy Jarvis

Alex Likens

Eugene Likens

Rebecca May

Clinton Pierce

Cora and John Ratcliff

Claude “Peanut” Smith

Larry Waller

Tonya and Timothy Crabtree

I'd like to commend the Operation G2 unit for the outstanding job that they continue to do here in the coalfields. It's been a long time a coming and much aprreciated by us, the Mingo County citizens. I was also impressed by the DEA for raiding the Justice Medical Center and local pharmacies. They are trying to stop the drug activity right at the source. I hope and pray that they never get to open back up again, and that they get some of the doctors right here in Williamson. But I know that in due time they will. Again, a special thanks to all law enforcement officers for your hard work.
