NAUGATUCK - The Lady Panthers of Tug Valley ran past Richwood 51 to 31 on Saturday night at the TVHS gym in Naugatuck.

Breanna Mazzella scored 16 points and seven rebounds for Richwood who is now (4-5).
“I thought we played really good defense tonight. On the offensive end we played good at times and really bad at times. We still aren’t where we want to be but, we are getting there,” said coach Okey Smith. “I thought Amber Linville played her best game ever in a Tug Valley uniform tonight but, I still expect better things from her as the year continues. We got good efforts from Whitney (Kirk) and Hannah (Armstrong) again tonight.”
“Adreana wasn’t hitting her shots but, she played a good floor game and hit the boards hard for us tonight. Katie Robinson did a really good job on Hannah Brown tonight holding her to eight points.”
“I would like to invite everyone to come to Naugatuck this Friday and Saturday as we host the John Preece Shootout. On Friday we will be playing Greater Beckley Christian in a girls/boys doubleheader then, on Saturday we have a full day of basketball as the girls play River View in JV and Varsity action starting at 1:00 and then the boys take on Ashland Paul Blazer in JV and Varsity action starting at 5:30,” Smith said.
Tug Valley is now (6-1) on the season. Richwood is now (4-5) on the season. They play at Nicholas County on Tuesday at 7:30.
