KERMIT - The Mingo County Schools recently held their annual Social Studies Fair at the Kermit K-8 School. There were a total of 55 participants from 11 of 13 public schools, along with 2 private schools. There were 25 first place winners who will compete in the Regional Social Studies Fair that will be held in March 2013, in Huntington. The winners are as follows:
Division I (3rd to 5th Grade): Anthropology-Individual:
• 1st Place - Olivia Lockhart, Burch Elementary
• 2nd Place - Kristine Brucal, Williamson Middle
Economics-Individual:
• 1st Place - Hali Nelms, Lenore K-8
