James “Jim” Gartin, 78, of Taylorville , went to his heavenly home December 17, 2012.
Upon arriving at heaven’s gates, he’ll be greeted by his loving parents, Elige and Icy Gartin; wife, Bernice Gartin Seeley; sisters, Lorraine Snyder, Helen and Roberta Sias; and brother Denver Sias.
Jim is survived by three children, Jeannie (Larry) Little, Jimmy (Susan) Gartin of Pulaski Tennessee, Lonnie (Rebecca) Gartin of Michigan; his sister, Darlene Morman of Kenova; four brothers, Ward and Dave Gartin of Taylorville, Wilford Gartin and Jack Gartin of Tennessee; grandchildren, Sherry, Sheila, Becky, Rachel and Shannon; four great-grandchildren, Kaylen, Jessee, Devin and Jordan; one great-great-grandchild; three special friends, Paul Justice; Teresa and Valarie Williams.
Jim will be deeply missed by many loved ones and friends. His legacy and passion for music will live on through the family and friends that he taught.
Funeral services will be held at the Chafin Funeral Home Chapel Thursday December 20, at noon with the Rev. Bill Snodgrass officiating. Burial will follow in the Palm Memorial Garden at Metheny. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral on Thursday.
