CHARLESTON — Senator Truman Chafin's office announced the federal stimulus bill will bring money into the state for numerous road projects. Mingo County will see projects set to begin within the next few months.

Many of the projects will allow for the re-pavement, drainage, and ditch

work of area roads. Some bridges are also set to be replaced with the

funding.

One of the projects set to start this year is the First Hollow Bridge in

Sharon Heights. The plan is to replace this bridge with a more up-to-date bridge. U.S. 52 in Naugatuck will see improvements to the railroad crossings and approaches. U.S. 52 is also set for numerous improvements in the Mountain View area. W.Va. Route 65 will also see some ditch and drainage work. Dingess Tunnel is set for some renovations along with replacement of R J Market and America Church Bridges. U.S. 199 will receive renovations to one of its signs, along with resurfacing, drain, and ditch work.
