Arrests made in Pike burglary

HAROLD, Ky. — An arrest has been made in regards to a burglary that was reported on Oct. 28, in which over $10,000 worth of items were allegedly stolen from a home in Harold.
According to reports released by Pikeville Post 9 of the Kentucky State Police, they received a call of a burglary at a residence in the Harold community of Floyd County. KSP Trooper Jonathan Dixon responded to the complaint and spoke with the home owner who stated that she had been missing items from within her residence between the months of Sept. through Oct. Trooper Dixon, along with KSP Detective Jimmy Anderson, began investigating the crime.
On Nov. 28, Det. Anderson conducted a search of a residence in the Millard community of Pike County, recovering items linked to the burglary of the residence in Floyd County. Upon the conclusion of the investigation, Kayla Adkins, 26, of Pike County, was arrested and charged with 1 count of burglary 1st degree, 1 count of theft by unlawful taking over $10,000.00 and theft by unlawful taking of a firearm.
Mathew Adkins, 28, also of Pike County was charged in the crime, with 1 count of burglary 1st Degree, 1 count of theft by unlawful taking over $10,000.00 and theft by unlawful taking of a firearm. Both subjects were arrested and lodged in the Floyd County Detention Center. This incident remains under investigation by KSP Detective Jimmy Anderson and additional information will be released as it becomes available.
