The Pike County Chamber of Commerce will hold its second Town Hall Forum on Tues., March 17, at 5 p.m. at the Southside Mall in South Williamson. The Town Hall Forum series is a new addition to the Chamber’s roster of programs to foster the relationship between the business community and elected officials.
“The Town Hall Forums give the citizens of our Pike County communities the opportunity to interact with their local and state government officials,” said Pike Chamber President Brad N. Hall. “It is a wonderful opportunity for any individual in a community to come and speak with their representative, senator, or other local official.”
The forum’s focus will be on issues surrounding District #6 in the South Williamson and Belfry area. Questions will be posed, by a moderator, to the officials in attendance regarding current issues that face the community and opportunities for the future. The following officials have been invited: Tim Hatfield, CEO of ARH (confirmed, Representative W. Keith Hall (invited), Magistrate Chris Harris (confirmed), Mayor Darren McCormick (confirmed), Mike Whitt of Mingo County Redevelop-ment (confirmed), and other community officials are invited.
Those in attendance will have the opportunity to ask questions and get answers. Each official will speak and questions will be posed by the moderator and a question and answer session will be held for those in the audience. Heavy hors d’oeuvres will be served. The event is free and all citizens are urged to attend.
“We hope that members of the South Williamson and Belfry communities will come out to hear from their local officials,” Hall concluded.
