Hughey Vance “Ben” Bailey 85, cherished husband and father went to be with the Lord Saturday March 14, 2009 at his residence. He was born January 3, 1924 at Red Jacket, WV son of the late Frank and Maggie (Phillips) Bailey. He is preceded in death by three Brothers: Hubert Bailey, Robert Bailey and James Bailey and five Sisters: Maude Bailey, Myrtle Grafe, Pearl Howell, Louise Mayhew and Ada Ison.

He was a retired coal miner of 30 years. He was a Deacon at Sprigg Freewill Baptist Church as well as a clerk for the church for years. He overseen care for 3 sisters and one niece prior to their death and was a veteran of World War II.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Ruth Harmon Bailey of Forest Hills, Ky., he is also survived Two Sons: David Lee (Sharon) Bailey of Taylor, MI., and Harvey Bailey of Statesboro, GA., and Two Daughters: Patricia (Gordon Blaine) Cathell of Tunnelton, WV., and Judy (John) Simpkins of Forest Hills, Ky. Twelve Grandchildren, Eleven Great Grandchildren and Two Special Nephews: Bobby Davis and Jackie Ison.

Funeral Services will be at 11 A.M. Monday March 16, 2009 at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home with Buddy “Robie” Kendrick officiating.Burial will follow at Mountain view Memory Gardens at Huddy, Ky., with Family and Friends seerving as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 6 till 8 P.M. Sunday night at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home with special singing at 7 P.M.. R. E. Rogers funeral Home of Belfry, Ky. is serving the family.
