WILLIAMSON - The students and faculty of the Burch Middle School are extending an invitation to all veterans to participate in a special program scheduled for tomorrow, Nov. 9, beginning at 9:30 a.m. in the school auditorium.

According to information provided by Johnny Hatfield, the middle school has planned the Veteran’s Day ceremony that is free to the public to honor past and present veterans that served in the armed forces, and who fought for our country. The program will also include several widows of veterans who are now deceased.

“We have got a wonderful morning planned for our veterans,” stated Hatfield. “The local chapter of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) will be participating in the event, and we have got several things planned with the children including a group that will sing. Mr. Cunningham’s 5th-grade class is also planning a Power Point slide show.”

“It’s very important that we teach our children to respect and honor our veterans who protected their rights to freedom long before they were ever born.”

If you would like additional information regarding the Veteran’s Day service, you may contact Hatfield at 304-475-1402.
