GILBERT - The 55th annual Harvest Festival and Auction sponsored by the Gilbert Kiwanis Club of Gilbert is scheduled for tomorrow, Nov. 3, at the Gilbert Middle School located at Horsepen. The doors will open at 6 p.m. and the auction is slated to begin at 7.

The festival and auction has been the major fund-raising event for the Gilbert Kiwanis Club for the past 54 years. Because of the generous support of the many friends and members of the organization, the Kiwanis Club is able to serve as the local Chamber of Commerce and clearing house for all community projects, charitable and otherwise. Some of the projects and events include the annual pancake breakfast that features pictures with Santa Claus and provides treats for the children; supporting the local football players and cheerleaders; providing college scholarships for local students and taking approximately 40 needy children Christmas shopping.

Jerry M. Lyall, President of the Gilbert Kiwanis, hopes to have businesses, organizations and individuals support these projects by providing a monetary donation, gift certificate or merchandise for the auction that is one of the main fundraisers for the year. You may mail your contribution to The Kiwanis Club of Gilbert P.O. Box 1641 Gilbert, WV, 25621, or arrange a drop-off by contacting Katie Lyall at 304-664-2375, Dusty McGuire at 304-664-8247, Roy Grimmett at 304-664-2561 or Jerry Lyall at 304-664-2578. If need be, your thoughtful donation will be picked up from your location.

“I want to thank everyone in advance for their participation and for helping the Gilbert Kiwanis reach their goal of changing the world one child, and one community at a time,” said Lyall.
