Doris Virginia “Jenny” Phillips, 87, of Williamson, passed away Thursday, October 25, 2012, at the Appalachian Regional Hospital in South Williamson, Ky.
Born February 20, 1925 in Mingo County, she was the daughter of the late George and Gracie Nichols Johnson.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband Paul Phillips; one daughter Doris Elaine Southwick; one brother George Johnson; two sisters Kathleen Blackwell and Mary Francis Fields; and one grandson, Ralph Travis Childers.
Jenny was a homemaker and a member of the Williamson Wesleyan Church.
Survivors include three sons Paul Eddie Phillips of Chattaroy, Danny Ray Phillips of Hermitage, Tenn., and George Allen Phillips of Chattaroy; two daughters Vickie Denise Hensley of Huddy, Ky., and Grace Etta Phillips of Chattaroy; 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, October 28, at 1 p.m. from the Hatfield Funeral Chapel at Toler, Ky. Burial will follow in the Community Cemetery at Chattaroy, with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday evening at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to assist the family with final expenses.
