GILBERT — A fundraiser is scheduled for this weekend to benefit the Mud Buddies Foundation.
Mud Buddies, which helps disabled children and their families take ATV rides on trails, will receive all proceeds derived from the first annual Thunder in the Mountain ATV and side-by-side Charity Poker Run, which encourages people to “ride for a reason.”
Susie Rasmussen, with Mud Buddies, said that the foundation had already passed last year’s ride total of 60, saying that it had already given 82 rides with some of 2012 still left to go.
Set for Sunday, Oct. 21, the poker run will be held at 1 Wildcat Way, Middleburg Island (Logan High School) in Logan. Registration runs from 9 a.m. until 10:45 a.m., with the run beginning at 11 a.m. Door prizes will be available and helmets are required. The price is $15 for a single rider and $5 for each additional rider. Machines with multiple passengers must be designed to hold multiple passengers.
The event is sponsored by Keefer’s of Logan and Logan Motorcycle Sales, two businesses which Rasmussen praised.
“They get us parts quickly and really help us out,” she said. “I can’t say enough about those guys.”
