Margaret (Peggy) Price Pinson, 87, passed away peacefully at her home in Williamson on Monday morning, March 9.
Born October 27, 1921 in Huntington WV, she was a daughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. W. H. Price of Chattaroy. Mrs. Pinson was preceded in death by her husband George T. Pinson, and by one sister, Frances Scharf.
She is survived by her daughters Pamela Pinson of Stone Mountain GA, Margaret Pinson of Williamson, Lucy Pinson Barden (Danny) of Greensboro NC, Sara Pinson Nenni (Tony) of Richmond VA, and Cathee Pinson of both Frankfort KY and Williamson WV. She is also survived by grandchildren A. J. Nenni (Jodi), Maegan Nenni, Bret Barden, and Seth Barden, great-grandchildren Ayden Nenni and Ethan Nenni, and sisters Mary (Patsy) Tulley of DeLand FL and Irene (Posey) Warmker of Norman OK, plus numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Pinson was a 1939 graduate of Williamson High School. She attended Mary Baldwin College in Staunton VA and graduated in 1943 from the University of Maryland in College Park, where she was active in the Kappa Delta sorority. Following her college graduation, she lived and worked in Washington DC prior to returning to Williamson to marry George T. Pinson.
She was a member of the Williamson Womans Club, Women of the Moose, Elizabeth Chapter of the Eastern Star, and the Pikeville, Ky., chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was an active member of St. Pauls Episcopal Church in Williamson, having served in the past as a Sunday school teacher, president of the Episcopal Church Women, and as a member of the Vestry of the church. She is currently a trustee of St. Pauls.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening, March 11, 2009, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Weaver Mortuary in West Williamson.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, March 12, 2009, at St. Pauls Episcopal Church, 411 Prichard Street, Williamson, WV. The Rev. Nick England will officiate.
Burial will follow at the Fairview Cemetery in West Williamson. Serving as pallbearers are Paul E. Pinson, Tony Nenni, Danny Barden, Don Coonley, A. J. Nenni, Bret Barden, and Seth Barden.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Pauls Episcopal Church, 411 Prichard Street, Williamson WV 25661 or to the American Cancer Society, 611 7th Avenue, Suite 101, Huntington, WV 25701.
Weaver Mortuary of West Williamson is serving the Pinson family.
