WEST WILLIAMSON — The public is invited to join in a community event to raise awareness and to honor breast cancer survivors planned for this morning, with registration beginning at 11 a.m. at the Williamson Field House. The cost to enter is $15 per person.

The walk is scheduled to be held at noon, and is sponsored by the West Virginia Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening Program in conjunction with the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources, the Office of Maternal, Child and Family Health and the Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center at the West Virginia University.

Every dollar raised with is used to benefit the West Virginia Breast and Cervical Cancer Diagnostic and Treatment Fund. The slogan for this year’s walk is “Walk for women…take a step against breast cancer.” Commemorative t-shirts will be available for the price of $10.
