Margaret McBrayer, 101, of Pinsonfork, Ky., passed away Wednesday, October 3, 2012, in the Parkview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Pikeville, Ky.
She was born July 17, 1911, in Pike County, Ky., a daughter of the late William Franklin and Polly Robinson Thompson.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dexter F. McBrayer Sr.; daughter, Marie Irene Adams; two brothers; and five sisters.
She attended McVeigh High School and Berea Academy, Berea, Ky., and was a kindergarten and head start teacher at Runyon Elementary School. Margaret was a member of the McVeigh Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Della (Herb) Stallard of New Carlisle, Ohio; one son, Dexter (Pat) McBrayer of Beaver Creek, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Nita Stallard, Ginger (Bob) Otto, Cindy Jackson, Steve (Carla) Stallard, Andy (Penny) Stallard, Christy Hash and Cathy (Paul) Barger; 11 great-grandchildren, Cameron, Tiana, Ryan, Jeremy, Nick, Sean, Josh, Morgan, Luke, Eden, and Kennady and a host of loving friends. A special thanks to the Staff of Parkview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the excellent care they gave to Margaret.
Funeral Services will be held noon Saturday, October 6, at the R.E. Rogers Funeral Home Chapel with Bob Werntz officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. View Memory Gardens, Huddy, Ky., with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. Saturday until time of funeral.
