Paul S. Messer, 78, of Dingess, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 23, 2012, from the Appalachian Regional Hospital in South Williamson, Ky.
Born March 12, 1934, in Dingess, he was the son of the late Harden and Nettie Messer.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two sons, Paul Harden Messer and Johnny Messer of Muncie, Ind; two brothers; and one sister.
Paul was an active member and a Deacon of The Zion Church at Breeden.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Kimberly Messer of Dingess; his sons Bob (Nadine) Messer of Monaville, Monty (Mary) Messer of Lenore, Gwen (Shella) Messer of Muncy, and Antonio Messer of Williamson; his daughters Anna (Collin) Buck of Muncie, and Chrystal Messer of Mt. Sterling, Ky.; one stepson Neil Bryant of Ohio; one stepdaughter Susie Bryant of Dingess; three brothers Charlie (Judy) Messer of Muncie, Dick (Janet) Messer of Muncie, and Ernie (Joyce) Messer of Rickman, Tenn.; three sisters Annie Conway of Muncie, Mary (Haskel) Marcum of Dingess, and Clara (William) Vannater of Monaville; seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and two step-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, September 26, at noon from The Zion Church at Breeden, with Pastor Phillip Stroud and Bro. Homer Spaulding officiating. Burial will follow in the Maynard Cemetery at Breeden with family member serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Tuesday at The Zion Church with special services at 7 p.m.
