Pike Grand Jury returns 9 indictments

The Pike County grand jury returned nine indictments last week. Those indicted were:

• Danielle Ray, 21, of Belfry, Ky., was indicted for theft by unlawful taking of more than $300 of money orders which belonged to Debra Johnson.

• Jody Dotson, 26, of Steele, Ky., was indicted for posession of a controlled substance, hydrocodone, a schedule III narcotic; possession of a controlled substance, Xanax, a schedule IV controlled substance; possessing prescription drugs not in a proper container.

• Joyce Sparkman, of Dorton, Ky., and Stacy Ray, of Grand Rapids, Mich., indicted for criminal possession of a forged instrument, second degree. Court documents state the two uttered or possessed checks to which the name Linda L. Justice had been forged.

• Amy Hamilton, 24, Pikeville, Ky., indicted for assault, third degree, when she caused or attempted to cause physical injury to KSP Tpr. Jimmy Anderson; resisting arrest; operating under the influence of alcohol.

• Johnny Burchett, 50, of Harold, Ky., and Steven Slone, 31, of Pikeville, indicted for possesstion of a controlled substance, first, second and third degrees; possession of drug paraphernalia; prescription drugs not in proper container; persistent felony offender, third degree.

• Jeffrey Davis, 22, of Belfry, indicted for fourth degree assault against Corey Baker.

• Barry Price, 44, of Freeburn, Ky., indicted for driving under the influence of alcohol; driving with suspended license, DUI.

• Michael Harris, 20, Pikeville, Ky., indicted for theft for unlawful taking, money in an amount of over $300 from Walmart.

• Ronald Newsome, 37, of Robinson Creek, Ky., indicted for criminal possession of a forged instrument, second degree, for issuing a check for $599 to which the name Richard Kiser had been forged.
