GOODY, Ky. – The Belfry Lady Pirates shutout Pike Central 8-0 in soccer action Tuesday night at the BHS sports complex at Goody.
Megan Smith scored four goals for Belfry. Her first came in the second minute of the first half and was unassisted. She kicked another into the net at the 14th minute on an assist from Abby Gannon.
Kate Hall scored on an assist from Hannah Maynard in the 19th minute.
Smith scored two more unassisted goals at the 22nd minute and 34th minute of the match.
Kacey Tackett scored a goal on a penalty kick in the 45th minute.
Gannon got an unassisted goal in the 47th minute, while Smith got her fourth score, an unassisted kick in the 71st minute.
Cydney McCoy scored Belfry’s last goal of the night on an assist from Nea Jackson.
Belfry had 34 shot on goal, while Pike Central only had three.
Tackett and one save in the first half and Caitlyn Hunt had one in the second half. Kayla Justice had 17 saves for Pike Central.
Belfry was scheduled to play Perry Central last night and Hazard at home on Saturday. The Lady Pirates are now 5-7 on the season. PCHS is 0-6.
