Charles Allred, 87, of Maysville, Ky., formerly of Toler, Ky., passed away Friday, August 31, 2012, at the Meadowview Regional Medical Center, Maysville.

He was born June 28, 1925, at Crawford, Tenn., the son of the late Herman and Betty Shepard Allred.

He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Luther and Willie Allred and sister, Ethel Cavalier.

Charles was a retired coal miner and a member of the UMWA. He was a member of Stone Masonic Chapter #890 F. & A. M. and a vetern of the US Army serving in World War II.

Survivors include his loving wife, Frances Elmo McCoy Allred of Maysville; son, Warren Allred of Maysville; daughter, Teresa Henry of Cedar Grove, N.C.; sisters, Hazel Burton of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio and Pauline Miller of Cornelius, N.C.; grandchildren, Meagan Henry of Cedar Grove, and Marinda Allred of Maysville; and a host of family and friends.

Funeral services will be held Monday, September 3, at 11 a.m. in the R. E. Rogers Funeral Home Chapel with Johnny Hatfield officiating. Burial will follow in the Mountain View Memory Gardens, Huddy, Ky., with Stone Chapter # 890 conducting masonic graveside services. Visitation will be held after 6 p.m. Sunday at the Funeral Home Chapel.
