He was the son of the late Williaml Archie and Loraine Zankovitch Whitt of Phelps.
He is survived by his wife at heart, Maebell Whitt of Phelps; sons Mathew and Samuel Whitt of Matewan; sisters Freda Mae Whitt, Reba Lester, Teresa Stump and Rosie Whitt of Phelps; five nephews, four nieces and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2009, at R.S. Jones and Son Funeral Chapel with the Revs. Willie Gordon and Marvin Casey officiating. Interment will follow at the family cemetery at Beech Creek, Jamboree, Ky.
