KSP seeking assistance in bank’s armed robbery

ALLEN, Ky. — A bank in the Allen community of Floyd County was robbed yesterday afternoon and the Kentucky State Police are asking the public for assistance.

Yesterday at around 1:41 p.m., KSP Post 9, in Pikeville, received a call of an armed robbery at Citizens National Bank.

Information obtained at the scene indicated that a unidentified man entered the bank armed with a knife and demanded money. He left the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The man was described as being approximately five-feet, six-inches tall with a thin build. He was wearing a white thermal shirt, blue jeans, gloves and a black hood covering his face and head.

There were no injuries and the incident remains under investigation by KSP Detective Tony Tackett.
