Joy Harris, 82, of Elkview, West Virginia, passed away Saturday, February 21, 2009 at her residence.
Born May 15, 1926 at Slaters Branch, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Wes Robinson and Lassie Slater Robinson Adair. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Ermal Adair; three brothers, James (Bud) Robinson, George Robinson and Charles (Tunk) Adair; and sister, Louise Robinson Williamson.
Joy was a graduate of Chattaroy High School and was a retired teacher but was still active as a substitue teacher.
She is survived by four daughters, Cathy Coulter of Tuson, Arizonia, Susie (Arthur) Slater, of Elkview, West Virginia, Jeannie (Ron) Whitton of Elkview, West Virginia and Bonnie (Rick) Strong of Elkview, West Virginia; one brother, Ken Adair of Lake Wales, Florida; one sister, Nancy Adair Smith of Slaters Branch, Kentucky; grandchildren, Jeff Coulter of Seattle Washington, Jack Coulter of Teays Valley, West Virginia, Jennifer Coulter of Teays Valley, West Virginia, Joey of South Charleston, West Virginia, Sarah Davis of Elkview, West Virginia, Damon Davis of South Charleston, West Virginia, Joy Patton of Elkview, West Virginia, Joel Slater of Elkview, West Virginia, Madison Boggus of Morgantown, West Virginia, Mason Boggus of Elkview, West Virginia and four great grandchildren and a host of loving friends.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 P.M. Monday, February 23, 2009 at the Wilson Funeral Home, Charleston, West Virginia and a Memorial Services will be held at 6 P.M. Tuesday Evening at the Funeral Home.
