PIKEVILLE, Ky. - A local man arrested in connection with the murder of his wife has pleaded not guilty to the crime.

Bruce Dillon, 52, was arrested Friday, charged with murder-domestic violence and abuse of a corpse.

Last Friday, Kentucky State Police Detectives Jimmy Anderson and Tony Tackett along with Grant County Sheriffs Office K-9 Search and Rescue conducted a search of the property of Bruce Dillon. The search was conducted in the Aflex community of Pike County. During the course of the search KSP Detectives unearthed a container which held the remains of a unidentified female inside.

The victim is believed to be Dillon’s wife, Sherry, 44, who has been missing for a month.

Sherry Dillon’s family contacted Kentucky State Police July 16, and said she had not been seen since July 7, near her residence at Aflex. KSP issued a missing person alert Aug. 3.

Dillon is scheduled to be in court again Thursday for a preliminary hearing. He is being held in the Pike County Detention Center without bond.
