WILLIAMSON — The Williamson Police Department conducted another raid late Thursday evening and into Friday morning which lead to one woman’s arrest and the recovery of many drugs intended for delivery.
Brittiney Cousin, 24, of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, was arrested for her part in an apparent drug trafficking scheme that the WPD has been working on for over a week.
Chief of Police C.D. Rockel told the Daily News that his officers, along with sheriff-elect Eugene Crum, who was functioning as a special investigator for Prosecuting Attorney C. Michael Sparks, executed another search warrant shortly after their initial raid of a residence on Vinson Street Thursday evening which lead to the arrest of four people: Albert “Trey” Childress, 31; Robert Wilson, 29; Christina Tidwell, 24; and an uncooperative man known only by his streetname, “Black.”
The raid on on that residence revealed information regarding additional drugs being brought into West Virginia from Ohio to a local hotel which Rockel would not name.
Rockel said his team went to the room of “Black,” which was in Cousin’s name, his apparent girlfriend. Rockel said that $20,000 of cocaine was recovered, including “two or three bricks that were pure, uncut.” Marijuana and “several hundred Oxycontins” were also seized, as well as packaging equipment, scales and an undisclosed amount of cash.
Cousin was not in the room. She was, however, apprehended shortly after.
“Upon seizing the evidence and returning to the station, we saw the vehicle she was driving,” Rockel said. “We performed a traffic stop and arrested her on possession with intent to deliver for both cocaine and Oxycontin, as well as conspiracy.”
Rockel also said that the four people arrested in the previous raid were all arraigned before Magistrate Dee Sidebottom on Friday. Each person, besides “Black,” was given a bail of $120,000. “Black” received a bail of $240,000. All five were still lodged at the Southwestern Regional Jail, in Holden, as of presstime.
